Bob O’Halloran, store manager, at the Crookston Hugo’s Family Marketplace presented a check Wednesday to Rachel LaFerriere, kitchen manager, at the Crookston Care and Share. O’Halloran said the money was donated by customers at the registers over the period of one week. “It was at the tills and was what the customers donated,” said O’Halloran.
The Crookston Hugo’s Family Marketplace on Wednesday donated 108 cases of fresh strawberries to the North County Food Bank. Each case contains eight 1-lb containers of strawberries totaling 864 lbs.
On Friday morning Bob O’Halloran, Crookston Store Manager for Hugo’s Family Marketplace, presented a check to Humane Society of Polk County Board President Barry Stephens for $1,142 from Hugo’s and their customers. O’Halloran said Hugo’s matched the donations made by customers when checking out. “It was a donation we did through the tills,” said O’Halloran.
Hugo’s Family Marketplace was busy with Ox Cart Days activities Tuesday evening. First, they hosted the Hugo’s Ox Cart Days Cookout and then the Hugo’s Family Marketplace Supermarket Sweep Contest. This year marked the 4th Annual Hugo’s Family Market Place and United Way of Crookston Golf Tournament with 17 teams participating this year.
