The Crookston City Council will meet Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the Crookston City Hall Council Chambers. A closed session will first take place at 6:30 to discuss Labor negotiations, and a Ways & Means Meeting will take place right after City Council. The Crookston City Council met in the City Hall Council Chambers at City Hall on Monday evening. City Councilman Steve Erickson was the only council member not present after a heart attack last week and had surgery on a blocked artery on Wednesday and another precautionary surgery on a partially blocked artery on Friday. The Crookston Parks & Recreation Department will meet Wednesday, August 4th, at 4:45 p.m. in City Hall. This meeting is replacing the regular meeting that was canceled earlier this month due to a lack of quorum. The city of Crookston has issued water restrictions effective today. The decision comes after the severe drought continues throughout the summer in northwest Minnesota. The restrictions, however, will be more like guidelines and recommendations and not fully enforced at this time. The city does not believe things are as bad as they could be but
