The Crookston Pirates Girls Basketball team hosted the Moorhead Spuds on Thursday night for the two teams’ first game of the season. The Crookston Pirate Girls Basketball team won the Championship of one of the brackets at a Fergus Falls tournament on Wednesday afternoon. Crookston beat Walker-Hackensack-Akeley 43-33 in the first round. In the semi-finals, they beat Hawley 45-27. In the championship, they beat Grafton 35-24. Other teams in the bracket were Stephen-Argyle, Osakis, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, and Goodridge-Grygla.
