The Section 8A Wrestling seeds have been announced with Frazee receiving the top seed. The section wrestling format will be different this year with the first round at the high seed and the semifinals and championship held in Fertile. The seeds and schedule are below – TEAM SEEDS 1. The Crookston Pirate Wrestling team won the first five matches, but the Badger-Greenbush-Middle River Gators won seven of the last nine matches to win a thrilling 39-34 match in a Section 8A dual at the “Swamp” in Greenbush. The KROX Athlete of the week is Ethan Bowman, a 5’6, 117-pound freshman that is coming off his first varsity tournament championship after winning the 62nd Skip Nalan tournament in Grand Rapids last weekend. Ethan won all four of his matches. He won his first two matches by pin before winning his semi-final match 14-3.
The Crookston Pirates wrestling team finished with championships won by Ethan Bowman and Ethan Boll while Carter Coauette finished third place, Zach Brown and Cameron Weiland finished fourth, and Cameron Hulst and Greg Gonzales finished fifth place at the 15 team 62nd Annual Skip Nalan Wrestling tournament in Grand Rapids.
