KEN WINGER RETIRING FROM HIGHLAND ELEMENTARY AFTER ALMOST 50 YEARS

After 50 years of serving in the school district, Janitor Ken Winger is retiring from Highland Elementary sometime this August. Winger started in the district in 1971 and arrived at Highland in 1986, where he’s been for 35 years. Highland Elementary Principal Chris Trostad had nothing but great words about Ken’s character and work ethic.

CROOKSTON SCHOOL DISTRICT AND TEACHERS UNION COME TO A TENTATIVE CONTRACT AGREEMENT

The Crookston School District and the Crookston Education Association (the teachers union) have arrived at a tentative contract agreement for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years.  The contract will give the teachers a two percent increase in 2021-2022 and a 2.45 percent increase in 2022-2023, which replicates the increase in funding from the Minnesota state
