The Crookston Pirate Boys Basketball got behind early, and a late-game rally fell short in a 71-61 loss to the Hawley Nuggets in a Section 8AA matchup at the Hawley High School gymnasium. The Crookston Pirate Boys Basketball team opened the game on an 11-3 run, but were outscored 58-37 for the remainder of the game as the Stephen-Argyle Storm took down the Pirates by a score of 69-40 at the Crookston High School gymnasium. The Crookston Park and Rec 10U Baseball team has had a good summer and that continued this weekend with a first place finish in their own tournament at the Highland Complex.
