THE NORTHWEST MINNESOTA ARTS COUNCIL ANNOUNCES YEARLY ‘OF THE AWARD WINNERS’

Three awards are given each year to recognize artists and arts advocates within our seven-county region who stand out in terms of artistry or volunteerism in the arts. Of the Year Award winners were nominated by area residents.  Of the Year Award Winners include: Randy Larson of Gatzke is the Northwest Artist of the Year for Music.

FERTILE PUBLIC LIBRARY HOSTS TRAVELING ART EXHIBIT FEATURING PIECES BY LOCAL ARTISTS

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council (NWMAC) sponsors an annual Traveling Art Exhibit, which visits northwest Minnesota communities throughout the year. This exhibit includes 15 original pieces of art by regional adult and student artists, chosen from works submitted for their annual juried exhibit. The exhibit is currently at the Fertile Public Library until January 16.

NWMAC-THE INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS GRANT IS EXTENDED TO OCTOBER 15

Applications are open for arts grants to individuals from our seven-county Minnesota service area, including Kittson, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake, and Roseau counties.  Individual Artist Grants have an October 15 deadline for $5,000 grants and a November 15 deadline for $1,500. Quick turnaround grants for $500 will be available in January 2024. These
