U.S. Senator Tina Smith met Monday with local leaders from Crookston and the surrounding area to discuss the shortage of affordable housing. Smith also spent time touring Vertical Malt learning about the Malt business from owner Adam Wagner and his plans for further expansion. Otter Tail Power Company and Reese Electric partnered with the City of Crookston to install an electric vehicle charging station in downtown Crookston. The station is located on the southeast end of the Wayne Hotel parking lot. The charging is free to the public.
The new walking and biking hub located in the Mayor’s Courtyard on the corner of Main and Robert streets is moving closer to completion with recent input from the Downtown Crookston Development Partnership (DCDP). The DCDP has been communicating with members of Bike Crookston and the City of Crookston as the project has moved forward.
During Monday’s nights Ways & Means Committee meeting, the recommended loan and land option by the Crookston Housing and Economic Development Authority (CHEDA) with Epitome Energy, LLC was discussed.
