The University of Minnesota Crookston held the final event of a series of webinars on Let’s talk Crops! this morning. Below they share what they presented in their final webinar. Sometimes organisms in our crop fields are already helping us with pest control. Growers can take advantage of the benefits these predators and parasites provide.
North Star 4-H Club wishes to thank the community for their recent Winter Gear Drive donations. Donations included hand-knit hats, scarves, socks, 75 pairs of hand-knit mittens, snow pants, and other winter gear. Club members also purchased fleece and made 120 hats for the drive with funding provided by the Minnesota 4-H Helping Hands Program.
Farmers with Private Pesticide Applicator certifications (PPA) that expire on March 1, 2022, will need to renew their licenses for the 2022 growing season. The Private Applicators certificate is for farm operators who are applying restricted-use pesticide products on their fields. This includes different herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and other pest control products labeled “restricted use”.
A free workshop on issues to consider when changing a structure of a farm business entity will be offered on March 9 in Crookston.
