TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES IN GRAND FORKS SATURDAY FOR 9TH ANNUAL ROLLIN’ ON THE RIVER

Rollerbladers & Cyclists will be abundant in Grand Forks on Saturday, August 24, 2019, for the 9th Annual Rollin’ on the River Inline Marathon, Half Marathon and the Family Fun Skate.  Also new this year is a 26.2-mile cycling marathon.

 Races are scheduled to start at 7 a.m.  The marathon begins at Central Valley School in Buxton, ND and the half- marathon will start at Choice Health & Fitness in Grand Forks.

 This year’s route will use a combination of county roads, city streets and Greenway trails.  Vehicles will not be allowed on the course when the race is underway.  The race will impact traffic in Grand Forks from 13th Ave. S to 62nd Ave. S. and from Belmont St. to S. Columbia Road.  There will be a controlled crossing at 24th Ave. S making this the best route to get to Lincoln Golf Course.  There will also be a controlled crossing at 40th Ave. S. for residents living south of 32nd Ave. and east of Cherry St. in Grand Forks.  The race will conclude around 10 a.m. at which time residents can expect all areas to be reopened to the public.

 The Cities Area Transit (CAT) Route 10 will be detoured on Saturday morning during the Inline Marathon.  The following stops will not be served during the event:

Kelly/Schroeder
Tufte Manor
Good Will
Cherry St. Townhomes
40th & Cherry
Choice Health & Fitness
