Your Crookston Area Chamber and Visitor’s Bureau, Executive Director, Terri Heggie was recently awarded a Scholarship to take part in the 2018 Women’s Fund Leadership Academy. This leadership academy is presented by the Community Foundation of Grand Forks, East Grand Forks, and Region which is funded by the Women’s Fund.
The Women’s Fund encourages all women to be philanthropists. In 2002, 20 women raised $20,000 and established a permanent endowment promising financial resources would be available for future generations to address needs and opportunities of women and girls. The Women’s Fund makes grants to support opportunities that build leadership skills and confidence. Their vision is a climate of equality, justice, activism, and leadership. Their desire is to make a difference through grantmaking and fundraising, empowering individuals and organization to address concerns affecting girls and women today and in the future.
Terri is among 19 area leaders taking part in the second annual Women’s Fund Academy. This five-session course will conclude with a Graduation Ceremony on November 8 at the Grand Forks/East Grand Forks Chamber of Commerce.
