The 125th Polk County Fair kicks off on Wednesday, July 8, in Fertile

The Polk County Fair starts on Wednesday, July 8, at the Polk County Fairgrounds in Fertile. This year marks the 125th anniversary of the fair, and it is one of the largest county fairs in Minnesota.

The Polk County Fair has something for everyone, but is especially known as a great family event. Grandstand entertainment includes the PRCA Rodeo, state championship baja racing, the kids’ pedal pull, Bingo, and the super demolition derby. The Hanson Memorial Free Stage will host the annual chocolate contest and karaoke on Wednesday, the talent contest on Thursday, and additional performances from Steve Solkela, the F-M All-stars, Cisco Skanson, Hard Day’s Night: A Tribute to The Beatles, and many more.

For those ready to get on some rides, the midway offers over 25 options for all ages, with one-day wristbands available for $25 and a mega wristband for $75.

Other activities include 4-H livestock showings, open class exhibits, Dock Dogs, food vendors, and kid’s bike drawings daily from Thursday through Sunday. A fireworks show will cap the fair activities Sunday night.
