The Midwest Shrine Association will celebrate its 95th Annual Summer Session in the Crookston and Grand Forks region this August, bringing together Shriners and their families from across six states and two Canadian provinces for three days of fellowship, competition, music, and community celebration.
“We are excited to welcome Shriners and their families from across the Midwest to Grand Forks and Crookston for this special milestone event,” said event organizers. “We invite the public to join us for the parades, competitions, and special programs as we celebrate 95 years of fellowship, service, and tradition within the Midwest Shrine Association.”
Thousands of participants and spectators are expected to attend the three-day gathering, which celebrates the values of fellowship, community involvement, and service that have long defined the Shrine fraternity.
The event will begin on Thursday, August 13, with a Shrine Parade in Crookston, Minnesota, stepping off at 6:00 p.m. The parade is part of the Ox Cart Days celebration and will feature Shrine units from across the Midwest, showcasing the colorful traditions and pageantry that have become hallmarks of Shrine events. The parade will begin on North Central Avenue and Alexander Avenue, travel east to Barrette Street, and then north to Spruce Street.
Activities will continue on Friday, August 14, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, where Midwest Shrine Association competitions will be held at both the Alerus Center and the Grand Forks Fairgrounds. Shrine units will compete in a variety of events that highlight skill, precision, teamwork, and camaraderie.
Friday’s activities will also include a Chanter Program at 2:00 p.m. at United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. The program will provide attendees with an opportunity to enjoy one of the association’s longstanding musical traditions.
The 95th Annual Midwest Shrine Association Summer Session will conclude on Saturday, August 15, with a second Shrine Parade beginning at 10:00 a.m. in downtown Grand Forks. The parade will serve as the grand finale of the three-day gathering and offer residents and visitors an opportunity to experience the spirit, tradition, and community service of the Shrine fraternity.
