THE CITY OF CROOKSTON RELEASES ITS FIRST NEWSLETTER

The City of Crookston released its first-ever newsletter earlier this week. This first edition will be for the Summer of 2024. The city has also announced that it will have a follow-up newsletter for the Fall of 2024 in August.

The City of Crookston’s Marketing/Event Coordinator, Keenan Devier, created the new newsletter with assistance from department heads at City Hall. “When I first started in my position a couple of months ago, I learned from other Marketing Coordinators from other cities, particularly in Minnesota, that a newsletter, generally speaking, is one of the number one ways that their residents find out new information about what is going on within the city,” said Devier. “That was one of the key priorities when I started at my position.”

The newsletter provides an in-depth look at voting information for the upcoming local elections. It details polling times, locations, and other helpful information regarding this year’s voting. “One of the main things we wanted to touch on was some of the things coming up later in the year,” said Devier. “So, with it being an election year, we wanted to have a central location for people to find out information about their elections for the upcoming year.”

Other things included in the Summer 2024 Newsletter directory are-

  • Elected Officials
  • Public Works
  • Polk County Public Health
  • Crookston Events

“I fully acknowledge that with this being the first edition of the newsletter there is going to be potentially things that were missed, whether its different community members that should have had representation or maybe some events I might have missed coming up here,” said Devier. “This is going to be a quarterly newsletter so the next edition of this is going to be our fall newsletter that will probably be rolling out in mid-August and just know that this is going to continue to improve as we continue to publish.”
