The East Grand Forks Green Wave scored six first-half goals and cruised to an 8-0 victory over the Crookston Pirate Girls Soccer team in East Grand Forks.
FIRST HALF –
East Grand Forks’ Skyla Rustad got the Green Wave on the board with a goal 10 minutes into the game, and that seemed to open the gates. They added three goals in over a four-minute span with Gina Jordheim, Nora Cariveau, and Rustad recording goals for a 4-0 lead with 16 minutes left in the half. East Grand Forks struck again with two goals in a little over a minute span when Jordheim and Kinsley Beland added a goal for a 6-0 lead with six minutes left in the half and that was the score going into halftime.
SECOND HALF –
Five minutes into the second half, Jordheim added her third goal of the game for a 7-0 lead. The Green Wave worked the ball around and continued to control play. With 10 minutes left in the game, Ainsley Swansonn 8-0 lead, and that is how the game ended, added a goal to give the Wave a with East Grand Forks winning 8-0.
Crookston drops to 1-4 on the year and will continue a busy week as they host Pelican Rapids on Thursday and Walker-Hackensack-Akeley on Saturday.
