THE POLK COUNTY FAIR TO RUN THIS WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY

The Polk County Fair will be celebrating its 123rd Annual Fair. It is being held at the Polk County Fair Grounds in Fertile this week, starting Wednesday, July 10, and running Sunday through July 14.

The fair will be free of charge at the entrance, but rides and other things cost money. The fair will offer a total of 25 rides, some being state fair quality rides, to fair-goers with a one-day ride pass that costs $25, while a five-day ride pass costs $75.

The fair includes things such as

  • Carnival Rides
  • Crafts
  • Jewelry
  • Karaoke
  • Live Music
  • A Livestock Barn
  • A Talent show and many other contest

“I’d be remiss not talking about our newest addition, which is the PRCA Rodeo on Wednesday and Thursday night. This is the big leagues for us.” Mentions Polk County Fair Representative Michael Moore, “We’ve had BBB Rodeo for many years now, but they have decided to go big time, so the PRCA is the major leagues of rodeo. It means better riders it means better contestants, and oddly enough, in my thinking, even better animals. I don’t know how you get a better animal, but anyway, that all comes with it.”

The fair includes many other things to do as well. To check out all Polk County Fair activities and events throughout the week, visit https://www.polkcountyfairfertilemn.com/premium-list

“The Polk County Fair, right now, is probably the seventh or eighth largest county fair in the state of Minnesota. We draw between 50,000 and 60,000 people, and it just continues to be the home of family fun.” says Moore.
