THE RED LAKE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE BUSY WITH CALLS OVER THE PAST FEW WEEKS

The Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office has been busy over the past two weeks.  A rundown of some of the calls are below – 

On the morning of Tuesday, May 28, a Red Lake Falls resident reported a loose dog ran out of a yard and caused them alarm while they were walking along St. Mary’s Ave. An investigation into the incident revealed the dog came from the residence of Shara Leann Paradis (39). Ms. Paradis was cited with city ordinance violations for allowing a dog at large and for failing to register the dog with the city.

On Friday, May 31, Wright’s Consignment reported they were paid for merchandise with fraudulent checks. They received two fraudulent checks, from the same person, on different dates. That report is still under investigation.

On Saturday, June 1, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary/theft that occurred at a residence in Terrebonne Township. That case is still under investigation.

On Tuesday, June 4, a Red Lake County deputy responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle/driver near Plummer. The occupied vehicle was located, parked in the middle of Minnesota St. in Plummer. The driver, Jerrod Richard Lewis Ash (28) of Erskine was found sleeping at the wheel. Mr. Ash was arrested for felony possession of illegal controlled substances, gross misdemeanor DUI and several other license and registration violations. He was taken to the jail in Crookston. He appeared in Court in Crookston on 06/06/19. He was ordered to pay $1,000 cash bail to be released from custody. At the time of this release, he is still in the jail in Crookston.

On the afternoon of Thursday, June 6, a report of a theft from a residence in Oklee was received. That matter is still under investigation.

On the evening of Thursday, June 6, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a road collapsing under a vehicle. This occurred at the intersection of US Hwy. #2 and 120th Ave. SW in Lake Pleasant Township. A Red Lake County deputy, a State Trooper and the Red Lake County Highway Department responded to the scene. No injuries were reported and the damaged road was blocked until repairs can be made.
