UMD BULLDOGS PUT UP 52 ON UMC MEN’S BASKETBALL WHOSE SEASON ENDS WITH 91-53 LOSS

The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) Golden Eagles were trailing by 16 points at half time when the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs went off for 52 points in the second half and won going away 91-53 in the last game of the season for the Golden Eagles. The Bulldogs who came in ranked #17 in NCAA Division II led in almost every category except rebounds which UMC had a slim lead, but the Bulldogs outscore UMC by 10 in the paint, shot 54% from the field and 42% from three’s, which was too much to overcome for the Golden Eagles. UMC had two in double figures, Leonard Dixon (Jr-Damascus, Oregon) with 13 and Uzo Dibiamaka (Soph-Adelaide, South Australia) added 12. UMC finishes their season with an 8-19 record and 5-16 in the Northern Sun Conference and honored three seniors,  Zach Westphal (West Fargo, N.D.), Brian Sitzmann (Prior Lake) and Silas Xia (Guangzhou, China). Minnesota Duluth is 23-4 overall and 16-4 in the conference which will be the number one seed in the Northern Division of the Northern Sun Conference Tournament that starts next week.
