THIS WEEK IS NATIONAL POLICE WEEK, PROGRAM TO BE HELD ON MAY 18 IN GRAND FORKS

National Police Week is May 14-20. The Northern Valley Law Enforcement Memorial will be held in Grand Forks on Thursday, May 18, at 2:00 pm at Optimist Park. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office will be attending the event.

This year, 556 heroes have been added to the walls of the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, DC. This includes 224 officers who were killed in the line of duty in 2022 and an additional 332 officers who were lost in previous years. Additionally, there were 25 working K9s who were killed in 2022.

There are currently 23,785 names engraved on the memorial, which includes those heroes killed from 1838 to 2022. This week we honor the brave men and women whose lives were taken too soon in the line of duty.

Thank you for your love and support and for your continued prayers for our law enforcement agencies.
