Crookston’s Travis Ross competed in the Minnesota State Open Golf tournament this past weekend at StoneRidge Golf Club in Stillwater. Travis shot a three round total of 9 under par and tied for third place. Travis was consistent over the three rounds of golf with a 3-under par (69) in each round and shot a three round total of 207. Travis turned in the second best professional score and received $5,000 in prize money. There were over 150 golfers competing in the tournament with 63 making the cut.
The tournament was won by Ben Greve, of Minneapolis Golf Club, with a 15-under par 201. It was the second straight year Greve won the title. John Harris and Tom Lehman are the only other two-time State Open tournament champions.
