Crookston’s Travis Ross is tied for 17th place out of 156 golfers with a two-under-par 70 after the first round of the 103rd Minnesota State Open Men’s Golf tournament at Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.
Ross had a slow start with a two-over-par on the front nine but bounced back with four birdies for a four-under-par on the back nine.
Ben Frazzini, an amateur golfer from Windsong Farm Golf Club, is the first-round leader in the clubhouse with a seven-under-par. The second round will be played on Wednesday, and Ross will tee off at 1:30 p.m. The third and final round will be played on Thursday.
