TRF HAS 5 SCORE DOUBLE-FIGURES TO BEAT PIRATE BOYS BASKETBALL

FIRST HALF –
Thief River Falls scored the first points of the game with a layup before Crookston’s Isaac Thomforde responded with a three-pointer and Reggie Winjum had a layup on a nice drive to the basket, and the Pirates led 5-2.  Thief River Falls took advantage of some missed Crookston shots and several turnovers and responded with a 9-0 run to build an 11-5 lead. The teams exchanged baskets, and Thief River Falls led 13-9 before Thief River Falls went on a 10-3 run to take a 23-12 lead halfway through the half.
Crookston continued to battle and trailed 31-19, but Thief River Falls ended the half strong on a 22-10 run for a 53-29 lead going into halftime.   Thief River Falls was led by Jack Manning’s 14 points and Jack Rosendahl’s 13 points for 27 of the Prowler’s points, which was two less than the entire Crookston team.

SECOND HALF –
Thief River Falls scored the first basket of the second half before Crookston answered with three free throws from Tanner Giese, a basket from Reggie Winjum, and an offense rebound and basket by Hunter Nicholas to get within a 56-36 score.
Crookston ran into some turnover problems again, and Thief River Falls got going again on the offensive end and took a 35-point lead with nine minutes left in the game to start running time.  Both teams went to the bench for the final five minutes of the game, and Thief River Falls coasted to a 90-59 victory.

Crookston drops to 7-14 on the year and will host Win-E-Mac on Tuesday.  Thief River Falls improves to 19-3 on the year and 12-0 in section play.
