Troy Alan Tadych, 61, a beloved son, brother, father, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 22, 2024, at his residence in Fertile, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on July 1, 1963, to Richard and Kathryn (Waldack) Tadych in Excelsior, Minnesota, Troy’s journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to family, work, and the joys of everyday life.

Troy’s early years were spent in Hopkins, Minnesota, before his family moved to Fertile in 1971, where he would grow up and eventually graduate from Fertile High School in 1981. Following his graduation, Troy began his career at TDS, where he embraced various roles, from driving trucks to becoming a skilled mechanic. His passion for mechanics and racing led him to contribute his talents at the Christian Brothers race shop and to lend a helping hand during farming season.
In 1999, Troy found love and companionship when he married Jennifer Bak. Their union was blessed with the arrival of their daughter, Mackenzie Kay Tadych, in 2000. Troy’s love for Mackenzie was evident in the countless hours they spent together, whether playing darts, watching movies, or engaging in imaginative play with Barbie dolls. He was not just a father but a true friend and confidant to his daughter.
In 2017, Troy transitioned to Fertile Repair, where he continued to showcase his mechanical skills and dedication to his community. He was actively involved in organizing the Baja races and the demo derby at the Fertile Fair, bringing joy and excitement to many.
Troy’s weekends were often filled with laughter and camaraderie at his brother Chris’ home, where family gatherings created lasting memories. He had a passion for life that was reflected in his love for four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and the simple pleasures of spending time with friends and family.
Troy is survived by his cherished daughter, Mackenzie (Connor) Tadych, Bemidji, MN; brothers, Richard (Karen), Jamie, Mark, Chris (Lisa), Aaron (Tracy), and Nathan Tadych. He also leaves behind 13 nieces and nephews who will carry forward his spirit of kindness and joy. Troy was preceded in death by his devoted parents, Richard and Kathryn Tadych.
As we remember Troy, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with laughter, love, and a deep commitment to family and friends. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.
Troy’s family will be holding a Celebration of Life gathering from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the Fertile Community Center, where family and friends can come together to share stories and celebrate the impact he had on all of our lives.
