TWO CANDIDATES WILL INTERVIEW FOR VACANT WARD 6 COUNCIL SEAT ON JANUARY 22

Two candidates, Chris Plante and Dylane Klatt will interview to fill the vacant Ward 6 City Council seat on Wednesday, January 22.  The seat for Ward 6 has been vacant since Cindy Gjerswold resigned on August 19.  This is the second attempt to appoint someone to the position.  Chris Plante was recommended for the seat from a pool of three candidates that included Klatt by a group consisting of three residents of Ward 6 and the members of the Crookston City Council in September.  However, the required five votes to appointment Plante at City Council could not be obtained.

The City Council decided to separate themselves from the interview process for the second attempt and leave the decision up to residents from Ward 6.  Sixteen residents contacted City Hall to be a part of the interview committee.  Interviews will take place on Wednesday, January 22 at City Hall with the committee meeting at 6:00 p.m., and the first interview at 6:15 p.m.
