A TOTAL OF SEVEN FILED FOR CROOKSTON SCHOOL BOARD, 6 FOR CITY COUNCIL

A total of seven people filed to run for Crookston School Board and six people filed to run for Crookston City Council when the filing window closed at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

SCHOOL BOARD
The Crookston School Board has three spots up for election. Frank Fee, Dave Davidson, and Mike Theis’ four-year terms expire this year. 

At least two new school board members will be elected, as longtime board members Frank Fee and Dave Davidson have elected to retire and not run again.

Mike Theis filed for reelection. Six others also filed – Lorri Capistran, Jacyln Martin, Connie Wilkens, Kayse Thompson, Adam Schiller, and Malissa Burnette.

CITY COUNCIL
The City of Crookston has four City Council positions up for election on November 5.  The positions up for election are City Council spots in Ward 1, 3, 5, and one at-large council position.
Wendy Ault and Derek Brekken have filed to run for City Council in Ward 5.
Kristie Jerde filed for reelection and is being challenged by Bishop Jensen for Ward 1.
Clayton Briggs filed for re-election in Ward 3 and will be unopposed.
Morgan Hibma filed
 for re-election for the council at large spot and will be unopposed.
