UMC BASEBALL’S BRODY SORENSON SIGNS WITH FARGO-MOORHEAD REDHAWKS

Former University of Minnesota Crookston baseball player Brody Sorenson (Grand Forks, N.D.) signed a professional contract with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Sorenson joins his former teammates Jake Hjelle, Jake Dykhoff, and Jake Osowski on the RedHawks. The four were teammates for the Golden Eagles in 2022 and 2023.

Sorenson was a two-time All-NSIC second-team pick in 2023 and 2024. As a senior in 2024, Sorenson went 7-1 with a 4.48 ERA in 72.1 innings pitched. Sorenson had 69 strikeouts and just 11 walks. He went 13-9 in his career, with 168.2 innings pitched, 128 strikeouts, and 38 walks. He had 61 appearances, and 14 games started.

Sorenson is the 11th former Golden Eagle to play professionally. He is the sixth player on a professional roster in 2024, joining Hjelle, Dykhoff, Osowski, Conner Richardson with the Oakland Ballers, and Zeke Hass with the Santa Fe Fuego. Zach Seipel, Matt Dallas, Will Zimmerman, Paul Krebs, and Cody Pamperin have also played professionally. Seipel is the only player ever selected in the MLB Draft, while Seipel and Krebs are the only former Golden Eagles to play in the Minor League Baseball system.
