University of Minnesota Crookston baseball player Jackson Fliflet (R-So., C, Wahpeton, N.D.) became just the fourth Golden Eagle player in history to earn NCBWA (National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association) All-Central Region First Team honors. Fliflet joins Jake Hjelle, Reed Hjelle, and Mike Hallquist as NCBWA All-Central Region First Team picks.
Fliflet becomes the ninth player to earn All-Region accolades from either D2CCA, NCBWA, or ABCA/Rawlings. The Golden Eagles have had nine players earn 21 All-Region honors. He joins Jake Hjelle, Reed Hjelle, Hallquist, Josh Dykhoff, Jake Dykhoff, Alex Koep, Brock Reller, and Kenny Perez.
He was an All-NSIC First Team pick in his first season as the starting catcher. Fliflet hit .319 and led the league with 19 home runs. He scored 46 runs, added 11 doubles, and 51 RBI. Fliflet had a .736 slugging percentage, 16 walks, and a .416 on-base percentage. He held a .984 fielding percentage behind the dish with 15 runners caught stealing.
Fliflet was also named to the D2CCA All-Central Region Second Team as announced Monday. Fliflet has earned two All-Region accolades, as he was also named NCBWA All-Central Region First Team.
Fliflet joins Jake Hjelle, Reed Hjelle, Mike Hallquist, Jake Dykhoff, Josh Dykhoff, and Alex Koep as Golden Eagle baseball players to earn All-Region accolades from different sources. The other two student-athletes in program history to receive All-Region were Kenny Perez (2016) and Brock Reller (2021).
Fliflet was an All-NSIC First Team selection at catcher after a breakthrough season. He hit .319 with 46 runs scored, 11 doubles, a league-high 19 home runs, 51 RBI, and a .736 slugging percentage. Fliflet had a .416 on-base percentage and a 1.152 OPS. Defensively, he held a .984 fielding percentage with 15 runners caught stealing.
