The Northern State Wolves scored 49 points in the second half to pull away for an 88-64 victory over the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagle Men’s Basketball team in a game played at Wachs Arena in front of 689 fans in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
FIRST HALF –
Northern State scored the first three points of the game before UMC responded with a 7-0 run to take a 7-3 lead less than four minutes into the game. UMC continued to build on their lead and took a 16-9 lead with 12:11 remaining in the half. Northern State responded with a 7-0 run to tie the game at 16. The Golden Eagles answered with a Brian Sitzmann (Jr. Savage) three-pointer. Northern State finished the final six minutes of the half with some strong play and took a 39-33 lead into halftime.
SECOND HALF
The teams played even for the first 12 minutes of the second half and Northern State led 59-49 with 8:51 remaining. UMC went cold and starting missing shots and it seemed like Northern State starting to make all of theirs as the Wolves pulled away for an 88-64 victory.
