MARY CRUISES TO A 9-1 VICTORY OVER UMC MEN’S CLUB HOCKEY

The University of Mary Marauders showed why they are ranked #1 in the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division II rankings as they scored early and often in a 9-1 victory over the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagle Club Hockey team at the Crookston Sports Center. 

Mary scored the first of their three third period goals just over three minutes into the game.  Mary scored nine minutes later to take a 2-0 lead and added another goal three minutes later for a 3-0 lead going into the first intermission.  Mary outshot UMC 14-8 in the first period.
In the second period, Mary scored four more goals within an eight-minute span to take a 7-0 lead.  UMC finally got on the board with 2:27 left in the period when Zach Larson scored with an assist from Tristan Morneault and Mary took a 7-1 lead going into the second intermission.  Mary outshot UMC 19-7 in the period.
Mary added two more goals in the second period and won the game 9-1.  Mary had eight different players score a goal while outshooting UMC 52-18.
The game was cleanly played with only one penalty.

UMC drops to 2-5 on the year and will travel to Williston State College on Friday.  Mary improves to 22-1-2 on the year.
