The University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagle Men’s Golf team finished in 18th place out of 18 teams after the first day of the scheduled two-day Holiday Inn Express Classic in St. Joseph, Missouri. UMC shot a 319, while Washburn University won the event with a 284 in the scheduled 54-hole event, that was reduced to just 18-holes due to rain.
UMC only had four golfers make the trip and Connor Humble led the Golden Eagles with a 76. Ben Koisti shot a 78, Ben Trostad (Fresh. Crookston) shot an 82 and Ethan Johnson (Sr. Roseau) turned in an 83.
The medalist was Missouri Western’s Lucas Horseman with a 67.
The second round was scheduled for Tuesday but canceled due to rain thus concluding UMC’s fall season.
