The University of Minnesota Crookston Men’s Golf team wrapped up its Las Vegas trip with an 11th place finish in the Winona State Invitational at Stallion Mountain Golf Club in Las Vegas, NV. The University of Indianapolis won the team title with a score of 609, trailed by Winona State’s team score of 631. Ian Carroll of Indianapolis and Michael Tait of Rocky Mountain College tied as medalists with a two-round total of 149. UMC’s two-round total score was 696 finishing 14 strokes ahead of South Dakota School of Mines.
Minnesota Crookston was led by Connor Humble (Soph., Rosemount) who shot a 166 over two rounds to finish in 36th place overall. Ben Trostad (Fr., Crookston) followed up his opening round 81 with a Wednesday round of 92 tying for 51st place. Ben Koisti (Sr., Lake Norden, SD) carded an opening round 76 before shooting a 99 on Wednesday to claim a tie for 56th place. Ethan Magsam (Fr., Crookston) rounded out UMC’s Wednesday scores following an opening round 90 with a 102 to claim 74th place in the field. Ethan Johnson (Sr., Roseau) shot an opening round 80 but withdrew during Wednesday’s round.
The Golden Eagles return to the course on April 5 to begin the NSIC Preview in Liberty, Missouri.
