The UMC Pre-Veterinary Club will host their annual Pet Wash Fundraiser on Sunday, October 22, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Scruffy Tails Humane Society. The downstairs entrance will be the primary entrance for the event.
“This is an event that the UMC Pre-Veterinary Club has hosted for several years,” said Director of Scruffy Tails Humane Society Ana Gustafson, “This will be pretty typical to what has been done in previous years with a few changes.”
During the event, pets will receive complete wash services for no charge. However, free-will donation is accepted. Nail trimming services will also be offered with a $5 charge. All proceeds will go toward Scruffy Tails Humane Society needs.
President of the UMC Pre-Veterinary Club, Izabell Gerbracht, will lead the club members in working this event, while a few Scruffy Tails employees may be present for assistance. The Pre-Veterinary Club has been occupied by UMC students pursuing pre-vet medical degrees.
Gustafson believes this event is an excellent opportunity for pet owners not only to support the fundraiser but also to take the time for community members to see the renovations of the facility. “Scruffy Tails has always had the support of the community, and for that, we are grateful,” said Gustafson, “We hope to see you bring your dogs out for the pet wash, but for the rest of our community members whether you’re a cat lover or owner or just like supporting a good cause, please feel free to come in and visit our shelter, and see our renovated space, or just visit our animals because they are always in need to spend time with.”
With wait-list issues in previous events, Scruffy Tails is now encouraging those who plan to attend to call ahead and schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are still accepted.
