UMC Soccer Shut Out For The 13th Time

The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) women’s soccer team was shutout on Senior Day in a 3- 0 loss against Northern State in an NSIC match played at the UMC Soccer Field in Crookston.
Northern State struck early into the match to take a 1-0 lead. In the ninth minute of the match, Shianne Rosselli (Jr., Corona, CA) sent a header over Minnesota Crookston goalkeeper Olivia Puttin (Jr., Rogers) after receiving a cross from Stephany Estrada (Jr., Valencia, CA) giving the Wolves a 1-0 lead. Despite relatively even possession in the first half, which saw each side register four shots on goal, Northern State managed to protect a 1-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Wolves added to their lead. 62:35 into the match, Darian Leschewski (Sr., Cape Coral, FL) scored giving Northern State a 2-0 lead. 32 seconds later Shiane Rosselli scored her second goal of the afternoon dribbling into the box before firing a shot into the net giving the visitors a 3-0 lead. Minnesota Crookston proved unable to score the rest of the match and ultimately were held scoreless for the eighth straight match.
The Golden Eagles fall to 1-14-2 overall and 1-11-2 in NSIC play. Minnesota Crookston wraps up its season on Sunday when UMC travels to MSU-Moorhead on Sunday for their final match of the season kicking-off at 1 p.m. Northern State improves to 9-7-1 overall and 7-6-1 in conference play.
