University of Minnesota Crookston tennis player Madeleine Schneider (Sr., Gartringen, Germany) was selected as the NSIC Player of the Week.
Schneider earned the award for the third time in her career. She holds a 5-0 mark at No. 1 singles, and a 5-0 mark at No. 2 doubles with Blaike Zander (Jr., Bismarck, N.D.). She has helped the Golden Eagles to their best start in program history, as they sit at the top of the NSIC standings with a 5-0 (2-0 NSIC) mark. Schneider helped the Golden Eagles to their first-ever win over St. Cloud State University. She defeated Maria Paz Aoki, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1 singles. In doubles, she teamed with Zander to pick up a 6-3 win. Against Minnesota Duluth, she upended Shay Callaway, 3-6, 7-5, 10-7. In doubles, the duo of Schneider and Zander won 6-2.
The Golden Eagles face the University of Sioux Falls, and Augustana University this weekend.
