Entrepreneurs and small business owners will gather for a networking opportunity designed just for them. The MNwest Entrepreneur Summit will take place October 29, 2019, at the University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC). Minnesota Innovates, the Bush Foundation, and UMC have partnered to bring this valuable learning and networking opportunity to Northwest Minnesota. The event, held in Bede Ballroom, Sargeant Student Center, will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Details and registration are available at www.MNwestEntrepreneurs.org.
The agenda for the day opens with the introduction of “Launch Minnesota” by Launch Minnesota Executive Director, Neela Mollgaard and Financial Manager Jeff Nelson of the Minnesota Department of Economic Development. It is followed by exploration of technology advancements creating astounding opportunities in healthcare, agriculture, and manufacturing that are applicable right here in our region. The Summit encourages awareness of these technological opportunities and education that supports their development and promotes business networking and the fostering of an entrepreneurial spirit across the western Minnesota region.
Education and community leaders, high school juniors and seniors, college students, startup founders, those exploring entrepreneurship and successful NW Minnesota Entrepreneurs are encouraged to attend. Program segments are tailored to each of these constituencies.
Fostering entrepreneurship and building an ecosystem of support for Founders, includes recognizing and connecting regional startups. Founders of companies that are 5 or fewer years old, should contact Lois Josefson, Greater Minnesota Development Services, LLC at lois@greatermndevelopment.com to be connected to the MNwest Founders Network and be recognized on October 29th at the 2nd MNwest Entrepreneur Summit.
Entrepreneurs with companies that are young or established, small business owners, and those thinking about starting a business now or in the future will receive valuable guidance, make quality connections, and experience technologies that are bringing certain change – and opportunity – to businesses and our northwest Minnesota region at the MNwest Entrepreneur Summit. Students and educators will be able to explore regional career paths and the opportunities that innovative, entrepreneurial thinking brings to employment, business formation, and business growth be it in: food and agriculture, technology, manufacturing, the creative arts or service businesses.
