UMC Volleyball Swept By Wayne State

The University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagle Volleyball team ran into hungry and determined Wayne State Wildcat team and lost 3-0 (25-7, 25-10, 25-14) in a Northern Sun Conference match played in Wayne, Nebraska.
Wayne State jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the first set and cruised the rest of the way for a 25-7 victory for a 1-0 lead.
The teams were tied at 2-2 before UMC took a 5-3 lead on a Hannah Stark kill and it was the start the Golden Eagles were hoping for. Wayne State answered with a 19-3 run to take a 22-9 lead and kept rolling to a 25-10 victory for a 2-0 lead.
Wayne State jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but UMC answered with four points behind two kills from Kaitlin Sikkink. The set remained close and Wayne State had an 8-7 lead when they went on an 11-2 run for a 19-9 lead and the teams played even the rest of the way as Wayne State coasted to a 25-14 victory to win the match 3-0.
Crookston drops to 3-16 overall and 1-10 in the NSIC. Wayne State improves to 15-5 on the year and 7-4 in the NSIC.
