The University of Minnesota Crookston Women’s Basketball team is getting a D-1 transfer as Erika Lane (who will be a sophomore eligibility-wise) from the University of North Dakota has given a verbal commitment to UMC Coach Mike Roysland. The 5’10 guard from Merrifield played in three games this past season for UND and averaged 1 point and 1 rebound per game.
Lane played two years at Pequot Lakes High School before finishing her high school career at Brainerd High School … Twice named all-conference and all-area. Alongside sister, Olivia (who also plays at UND and has entered the transfer portal), helped Pequot Lakes to the 7AA Section Semifinals. She averaged 10.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game as a junior in 2020 for the Warriors.
