UMC Women’s Basketball Program signs a 5’11 forward from Wisconsin

The University of Minnesota Crookston women’s basketball team announced the signing of Julia Peplinski (F, 5-10, Hustisford, Wis./Hustisford H.S.) to a National Letter of Intent. Peplinski is the fourth signee for the Golden Eagles for the 2018-19 class, joining Mary Burke (F, 5-11, Virginia, Minn./Mountain Iron-Buhl H.S.), Paige Cornale (G, 5-10, Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek H.S.) and Bren Fox (C, 6-3, Norwood Young America, Minn./Norwood Young America H.S.

Julia Peplinski (F, 5-11, Hustisford, Wis./Hustisford H.S.)
Peplinski averaged 23.5 points and 13.0 rebounds per game as a junior at Hustisford High School. She was an All-Trailways-East Conference First Team pick last season. In addition, she was named the Female Athlete of the Year at Hustisford High School. Peplinski as selected 95.3 WXRO Radio All-Area. She earned All-Star accolades at a club tournament. In addition, she also recently reached 1,000 points. Peplinski also tallied 3.0 assists and 4.1 steals per game as a junior. She notched 30 points on 9-of-14 from the field against Oakfield High School. Peplinski tallied 35 points on 12-of-21 from the field versus Dodgeland High School. In addition, she notched 29 points on 11-of-14 from the field against Rio High School. “Julia is a very powerful inside out player,” said Head Coach Mike Roysland. “She is a player who works relentlessly on the glass. In addition, she has a burst of speed that makes her a hard player to guard. Julia is a physically demanding presence in the post. We are excited to have her join the Golden Eagle basketball family.”
Peplinski is the daughter of Reed and Carrie Peplinski. She was born June 22, 2000. Peplinski plans to major in exercise science and wellness. She was named to the National Honor Society and High Honor Roll. Peplinski enjoys working on the farm milking cows.
