The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) Women’s Basketball team were trailing by 17 points at half time and started to whittle back in the second half outscoring Southwest Minnesota State by nine in the second half but ran out of time and the Mustangs held on to a 63-55 Northern Sun Conference win in Marshall. The Golden Eagles were led by three in double figures, Kylie Post (Sr-Maranatha Christian Academy, Mn) with 13 while Mary Burke (Senior-Mountain Iron-Buhl) and Abi Fraaza (Fresh-Birnhamwood, WI) both had 12 points. UMC lost their 11 game in a row and are now 1-15 on the season and 0-10 in the conference. Southwest Minnesota State who improve to 9-6 overall and 6-5 in the conference. UMC will close out the weekend tomorrow afternoon when they are at the University of Sioux Falls who defeated Bemidji State tonight 66-59.
