UMC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL GAVE SIOUX FALLS A SCARE BEFORE FALLING 70-60 ON THE ROAD

The University of Minnesota Crookston (UMC) Women’s Basketball squad started out leading at the first quarter 16 to 13 over the University of Sioux Falls, but saw the Cougars come back with a strong 22 point second quarter and a 35-29 lead at half. Third quarter was exactly the same as UMC outscored Sioux Falls 16 to 13 again and the Golden Eagles trailed by three points to start the fourth quarter. The home team Cougars scored 22 points again and held on to the 70-60 win in a Northern Sun Conference game in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Golden Eagles were led by Abi Fraaza (Fresh-Birnamwood, WI) with 16 points and seven rebounds as UMC lot their 12th game in a row and are 0-11 in the conference and 1-16 overall. They will be home in Crookston on Friday to host Wayne State (Neb.).
