VETERANS DAY EVENTS PLANNED IN THE AREA

The Polk County Historical Society and Carnegie committee will present a Veterans’ Salute at the Carnegie on Saturday, November 9 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Anne Muir said this year’s event centers around the Vietnam War featuring music, artifacts and three speakers.  “We’re going to be celebrating all Veterans, but we do have a focus on the Vietnam War vets,” said Muir.  “We have three speakers that will talk about their experiences in Vietnam – Bob Anderson, Dean Vikan, and Gaye Wick. We also are going to be providing light refreshments.  We’ll have period music, a raffle for the veterans, and we’re bringing some exhibits from the museum to the Carnegie, so everyone can enjoy those.”

We will have more on the Veterans’ Salute at Carnegie on Valley Talk Wednesday, November 6 at 10:45 a.m. on KROX.
