Washington School celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday by gathering in the gym this morning to read and kick-off I Love to Read Month! Washington has lots of fun activities planned during the month and looks forward to encouraging reading both at school and at home. As Dr. Seuss said, “The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go!”
Literacy development begins at birth and is the foundation for reading, writing, communicating, and socializing. You can support early literacy development by talking, reading, singing songs, rhyming, and drawing with your child every day!
