Winter Weather Advisory issued for the area

The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of northwest and central Minnesota and Eastern North Dakota until 3:00 p.m. Sunday (December (8).

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON…
* WHAT…Mixed precipitation. Additional snow accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations around a light glaze.
* WHERE…Portions of northwest and west central Minnesota and northeast and southeast North Dakota.
* WHEN…Until 3 PM CST this afternoon.
* IMPACTS…Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.
