Grand Forks’ South Washington/28th Ave South intersection will be reduced to one lane

The City of Grand Forks has announced that it will reduce South Washington Street traffic to one lane in each direction at the intersection of 28th Avenue South starting on June 30. Crews will also work on the left turn lanes at the intersection.

From June 30th to July 6th, in addition to South Washington Street being one lane in each direction and no left-hand turns allowed, 28th Avenue South traffic can only make right-hand turns at the intersection. Through traffic and left-hand turns on 28th Ave. S. will be closed. These closures are to allow crews to work in the middle of the intersection. After July 6th, northbound traffic on South Washington Street will be fully open, while southbound traffic will be one lane with restricted left turns onto 28th Avenue South.

The entire project is expected to take one month, weather permitting.
