Yvonne Stella Johnson, 88, Alexandria, MN, formerly of Halstad, MN, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Knute-Nelson in Alexandria. She was born on November 26, 1935, to Stella (Huseby) Thompson in Minneapolis. Yvonne was raised in Hendrum by her grandmother, Emma Huseby, graduating from Hendrum High School. She attended Brown Business School. 
On September 1, 1956, she was united in marriage to Roland Johnson. They lived in Hendrum for a couple of years, while Yvonne worked at the Norman County State Bank. In the early 1960’s, they moved to Halstad. Halstad is where they spent their lives together raising six children and then enjoying retirement. Yvonne continued to live in Halstad after her husband passed away in 2012. She then moved to Alexandria in 2018 to live with her daughter, Patti.
Yvonne was known for her baking. Nothing could quite compare to Yvonne’s chocolate chip cookies, brownies or orange cookies. She was active in Halstad Ladies Aid and American Legion Auxiliary where she served as Auxiliary President. She was Schwan’s favorite customer with weekly ice cream orders. She always had her basement freezer stocked for when her many grandchildren and their friends visited. Above all, Yvonne loved her family and took joy in the time spent with them.
Yvonne is survived by her six children: Terri (Jay) Lee, Patti (Greg) Warnecke, Jeff (Marie) Johnson, Steve (Dani) Johnson, Cary (Davi) Johnson and Doug (Laura) Johnson. Seventeen grandchildren: Leah (Travis) Johnson, Robyn Stoller, Shannon (William) Barlow, Ashley Essig, Bridget (Steve) Jonak, Kirby (Lauren) Lee, Derrick (Samanatha) Warnecke, Michael Warnecke, Sydney (Jordan) Kuznia, Haley Warnecke, Josh Johnson, Melissa (Dominic) Gregory, Jordan Johnson, Jenna Johnson, Eric Johnson, Kristen Johnson, Joel Johnson and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, grandmother, husband and two brothers: Wallace and Arlen.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Halstad Lutheran Church, Halstad, MN.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.
Interment: Halstad North Cemetery, Rural Halstad, MN.
