The Barnesville Trojans showed why they are ranked #1 in the state as they dominated the Crookston Pirate Football team by a score of 66-0. Barnesville did not have a second down play in the first half and rushed for over 300 yards in the victory as they extended their winning streak to seven.
1st Quarter –
Crookston received the opening kickoff and went three and out. On the ensuing punt, Barnesville’s Asher O’Brien returned it for a 77-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion was good, and Barnesville took an 8-0 lead. Crookston got the ball back and three plays into the drive, Barnesville’s Nathaniel Huesman intercepted a pass from Lionel Luna, and one play later, Gannon Bolgrean ran it in for a 15-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion was good, and the Trojans took a 16-0 lead.
Crookston got the ball back, went three and out, and had to punt. Barnesville started their drive with two passes from Zach Bredman to Zack Maesse and Major Ness for 39 yards. On the next play, Cam Halverson scored a four-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion was good, and Barnesville took a 24-0 lead. Crookston got the ball back, went three and out, and had to punt. Barnesville started their drive with a run from Bolgrean that went 22 yards. On the next play, Bredman hit Bolgrean for a 26-yard touchdown to give Barnesville a 30-0 lead.
2nd Quarter –
Crookston started the second half with the ball, and they went three and out. On the ensuing punt, O’Brien returned it for his second punt return touchdown of the game, and Barnesville took a 36-0 lead. Crookston got the ball back and went three and out. On the ensuing punt, the snap went out of the back of the end zone for a safety. After the free kick was fair caught, Bredman kept it himself for a 62-yard touchdown, giving Barnesville a 42-0 lead.

3rd Quarter –
Barnesville received the second-half kickoff and had mostly reserves in. Collin Morey got a carry for 20 yards. Avery Schroeder got a carry for 8 yards. Bolgrean, now in at QB, kept it and ran for a 52-yard touchdown, giving the Trojans a 59-0 lead.
Crookston got the ball and gave a carry to Lionel Luna, who went for four yards. Then Miles Moore got a carry for four yards. Teagen Lubinski kept it himself on third down for three yards, giving the Pirates their first first down of the game. The next three plays for Crookston were runs that did not result in a first down, and they had to punt.
4th Quarter –
Barnesville started the fourth quarter and kept it on the ground. Connor Klemin, now in at quarterback, had a carry for 11 yards. Eli Amundson had two carries for seven yards, and Klemin got three more for 31 yards. Amundson got a carry for 14 yards and a touchdown, giving Barnesville a 66-0 lead after the extra point.
Crookston got the ball back with just under four minutes to go. Daniel Jaime got a carry for three yards, and Luna had a carry for three yards. Lubinski kept one himself for 18 yards and then did it again a play later for another five yards before the game’s final play was a Luna carry for 12 yards. Barnesville won the game by a score of 66-0.
Crookston falls to 0-7 and takes on Hawley on Wednesday. Barnesville improves to 7-0 and takes on Frazee on Wednesday.
