On Thursday, January 2 at 8:40 a.m. the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, Altru Ambulance, East Grand Forks Fire Department, Oslo First Responders responded to the intersection of Polk County Road 64 and County Road 22 (North of East Grand Forks) for a two-vehicle crash with personal injury.
Upon arrival, deputies observed that a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Ordean Thompson, age 81, was traveling northbound on County Road 22 when it lost control on the ice-covered roadway, entered the southbound lane and struck a 2018 Subaru driven by Lynne Olson, age 46 of Oslo, who was southbound on County Road 22. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage. Thompson was transported by ambulance to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks with serious injuries. Olson was treated and released at the scene. This investigation is active and ongoing. No further information will be released at this time.
