The Crookston Pirate Girl’s Tennis team’s day got more challenging as it went along and they beat Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 7-0, and Park Rapids 5-2, and lost their first match of the season to the strong Pequot Lakes Patriots 5-2 in a quad played in Park Rapids.
CROOKSTON vs LONG PRAIRIE-GREY EAGLE
Crookston cruised to a 7-0 victory over Long Prairie-Grey Eagle in the first match of the day. Crookston outscored LPGE 84-9 in the match, winning handily in all seven of the matches.

CROOKSTON vs PARK RAPIDS –
The second match of the day was more competitive as Crookston beat Park Rapids 5-2. The match was a little closer than the score indicated as Crookston’s Kaylie Clausen won 10-6 in the third set of her fourth singles match and Hayden Winjum won a hard-fought match at first singles 6-4, 6-3.

CROOKSTON vs PEQUOT LAKES –
Crookston suffered their first loss of the season as Pequot Lakes dominated the singles and won the top three singles matches by a 36-7 margin. The rest of the matches were much closer with three of the remaining four matches going to three sets with Pequot Lakes winning two of them.
Winning for Crookston were the first doubles team of Emma Osborn and Emma Gunderson with a 6-2, 6-4 victory, and the third doubles team of Kaylie Clausen and Morgan Nelson who won in a three-set match.
Crookston is now 4-1 on the year and will travel to Moorhead at 3:00 p.m. for a dual that was originally scheduled for Thursday.
