SIGN UPS FOR CROOKSTON PARK & REC WINTER ACTIVITIES NOW OPEN

The Crookston Park & Recreation Department is now offering signups for various classes and activities this winter. Park & Recreation Director Jake Solberg talked about a few of the options available for kids. “We now have everything opened up for our winter programming,” said Solberg. “Swimming lessons which won’t be until February, but for those that want to sign up, they certainly can. Hockey is all open for registration, Figure Skating, Wrestling, and CYBA basketball are also open for registration.”

Wrestling will start in December, and for more information on Crookston Youth Basketball, you can check out their website,  https://www.crookstonbasketball.com/. Solberg said those interested in learning about other programs should stop by City Hall with any questions. “Stop by City Hall or even give us a call as well,” said Solberg. “We also update our Facebook page daily, which is Crookston Parks & Recreation.”

Some activities will be simultaneously, but Solberg says they will allow for kids to do both if they want to participate in more than one. “I’m a firm believer in multiple activities for kids,” said Solberg. “If you want to do more than one activity, do it. If you go to Hockey once or twice a week, and then your other program once or twice, that’s fine. If the schedules collide, we will work around it because we want kids to be active.”

All the information can also be found on the City of Crookston website https://www.crookston.mn.us/ns/. Just click on the Parks & Recreation tab, and then hit Activity Registration under Quick Links. You can also learn more by listening to last Friday’s edition of Valley Talk on KROX, where Solberg discussed these programs more. You can listen by clicking here.
