The Crookston Pirates Girl’s Hockey have had quite a bit of off time since they started practice at the end of October!! And that will continue as their game against Jamestown, N.D. tonight that was to be played in Mayville, N.D. has been postponed until a later date!!
The Pirates started the season out with a nice 7-1 win over Thief River Falls and then with postponements and the like, Crookston had two weeks off. Then they were on a pretty good run with some great competition but after a tie with Bemidji, they had seven days off again and ended up losing a 4-3 game at East Grand Forks. Then the Holiday Break and Crookston had another two weeks off as they get ready for the rest of their regular season starting in Mayville, North Dakota where they will play Jamestown, N.D. Crookston is in a cooperative with Mayville-Portland and Hatton, N.D. and have been playing one game a year at Mayville to give the fans in that area a chance to see their local girls play high school girl’s hockey. Parker Strand is a freshman from Mayville and Brynley Coleman is a sophomore from Hatton!! Crookston is 6-4-1 on the year while Jamestown is 4-4 on the season and coming off a 10-1 loss at home on Thursday to Fargo Davies. The game will start at 7:00 PM at the Kim Braaten Memorial Arena in Mayville.
